I love when Zoey gets something new, or has a surprise come to her. She acts like she woke up on Christmas morning with a tree full of presents just for her. I think more people should be like that. Negativity is always so heavy and effects everyone at some point. I used to be an extremely negative person. Now I tune that negativity into music. I listen to music everyday. It is my escape. Ranting on here helps.
Don't get me wrong, sometimes negativity is necessary. Warnings to a child not allowed to play in the street, it is to keep them safe (but kids just hear the negativity). Cancer and treatment; getting news about the big "C" can really ruin someones attitude. It can ruining the most positive through the chemo. But every negative has a positive, you just need to look for it.
We have a lot of that going around the house. Potty training, bills, organizing, getting the nursery ready, etc. Whenever it starts to effect Josh or me, I list off the positives in the hard situations. Zoey might be taking awhile to potty train, but she is willing and progressing (just slowly). We do have a lot of bills and money is really tight, but look at what we have. Josh made this happen. No, we don't have a place for some things, but Josh and I are both creative enough to figure out a neat place for it. The nursery is full of Zoey's toys and my business supplies, but our little man will be in our room for the first 6 months or so.
It doesn't matter if the negative out weights the positive, there is a positive and you need to hold onto it. It is kind of like directions. If you need to go north (positive), but you are going west (negative)... You need to turn at some point, right? If you keep going west, you will never end up going north. You don't know where that turn is, but you're going to look for it. What if the only road north is closed? You make a way. You might have to get out and build your own road, but in the end of your hard work, you will have a way north.
