Oh. My. Lordness!
Happy Monday, everybody!!
Zoey and I woke up at 7 o'clock on Saturday (just like every other day). I had very little coffee, I usually have a full cup, but I wasn't right. I started having breathing problems at 9 o'clock. That ended about a half an hour later. "Well, that wasn't too bad, maybe I won't have to go to the hospital after-all!".... Finally took my medicine, and my breathing started getting harsh again. Why do you do this to me?!
I woke Josh up around 11 o'clock, but I didn't mention the breathing, I figured it would go away shortly. I got up and walked to the bedroom to try and work through it. Well, it quickly turned into wheezing.... CRAP!.... It was getting worse by the second, Josh came in to help me calm down. That is when the contractions started (contractions alone can take the breath away). I was getting dizzy and my hearing was getting fuzzy. Dr. Josh insisted on going to the hospital. At the time I was a little frustrated, because I didn't want to burden him. We quickly got Zoey ready and rushed to the hospital, at this time I was having a contraction every 5 minutes. They weren't as bad as labor contractions, but they were worse than braxton hicks contractions. Any kind of contractions are worrisome when they are only 5 minutes apart.
I was sent back right away when we got there (small hospital, not very busy). At this point they were only a couple minutes apart. They hooked me up to the vital monitor (whatever it is called) and started asking question. I wasn't able to say a word without feeling like I was going to suffocate. You know when you are deep under water and you can no longer hold your breath, so you start swimming to the top, that weak leg, panicking feeling because you are desperate for air? That is what it felt like.
They did an EKG and listened to Connor with a doppler. Ok.... hook up the monitors to my stomach so we can keep an eye on him and the contractions... No? Feel my stomach during the contraction.. No? Okay?... Why aren't you keeping an eye on him?!? That was literally the only time the checked him. They didn't ask if he was moving, they didn't ask about my contractions.. I know it wasn't Labor & Delivery, but you could at least be more concerned for him or send me to a hospital that has a maternity ward.
They gave me a breathing treatment while Josh took Zoey to her Papaw's, then took me to get a CAT scan. They spent a good 10 minutes just trying to get saline into my veins, but it wasn't going through. They kept moving the IV tube around, taking off the tape, putting it back on. They finally decided to give me a separate injection. They gave me saline and then the fluid that makes you feel warm through out the body (can't remember what it is called). Then had to push that through during the CAT scan. I kept having contractions, laying flat on my back.. my heavy chest pressing down on my lungs, my arms above my head, so that is putting pressure on my airway. In total, I was on my back for about 20 minutes. The guy that did my CAT scan was actually really nice. They were all nice, but he was more concerned about Connor and let me take my time getting up and laying down. Asked me every couple minutes if I was ok.
When I got back to the room, Josh was still gone. They hooked me up to the monitor again. At this point it was about 3pm. I've been in this dang hospital for 3 and a half hours! They won't find anything wrong... I can just feel it. Welp, the doctor comes in and tell me they couldn't see anything wrong. They heard a little wheezing when they first checked my lungs, but that is it. Since that was the only thing, asthma... I could possibly have asthma. I didn't even know you could develop asthma as an adult. I've never had a problem with my breathing. Not even when I'm sick. My breathing is a little different in the cold, but I'm sure it's normal. Then they brought up asthma and my anxiety. That makes sense. It gets worse because I start freaking out because I'm breathing and I'm having contractions. But... how does it all start. Every time my "breathing episodes" start, I'm sitting down... I haven't been anxious or stressed about anything when they start.
They finally discharged me right when Josh got back, and prescribed me an inhaler. (It only works for so long). I was dropped off at home to "relax", I decided to clean up the living room and do dishes, haha. Josh had to run back and get Zoey and go to the store. They got back, dinner was made and then we just relaxed.
Sunday I wanted to stay home while Josh went to his dad's, but I didn't want to be a lone with Zoey since I was exhausted.... so I went... just to find out, Josh was going to take Zoey with him and leave me... if I knew that, I would have stayed home. Plus, I didn't want to have any breathing problems over there. I ended up having to use my inhaler a few hours before I was supposed to. I was having a lot of problems over there. I was too humid outside and it was too smokey inside... I was ready to leave the minute we got there. I felt bad, but I just wanted to be in the comfort of my own home while trying not to die.
I guess we will figure out more, the more problems I have. I have had a couple of contractions and breathing problems already since starting this. So, I'm going to leave it at that and try to calm myself down. Once again, I would everyone's feedback, because I need to just survive for another 6 weeks.

Do You Need a Shout Out?
If you are a blogger yourself, contact me with your website and brief description about your blog. Email is the fastest and easiest way to get a response from me, but will get back to you going through social media. Every Tuesday I will be giving shout outs. If your blog is less than a month old, I will not post it, I will go back to your blog in a couple months and see how you are doing. If you are still posting fairly consistently, I will then give you a shout out.
Who Has It Worse?
Holy contractions, Batman! Last night was painful! I know, I know... "Geez, Morgan! Why are you always complaining?" I'll tell you why; because pregnancy sucks. I love that I'll have my little man in a couple months, but damn. Growing a baby is a life journey. Not for the weak! Not suitable for men!
Josh tried to tell me getting hit in the "manhood" was more painful than labor. There is no such thing as "del" (unit of pain). People experience pain differently. Example, a cut from a sharp branch could be more painful to someone than the next. But you need to think of logic! Getting kicked lasts, what, a couple minutes? Labor on average lasts about 14 hours, but it can be longer! As bad as 48 hours! The pushing process can last hours!
You can't even argue the fact that men's balls are internal organs "my internal organs are getting hit". What do you think has been happening for months? Babies don't just kick against the belly, they kick up into the organs, down into the bladder and more sensitive nerves, even the spine. Just comparing it to labor though. The stomach is contracting, trying to push a watermelon out of a narrow canal (pushing hips apart) and out of a small hole! After contracting for hours, a woman's abdomen is going to be sore and weak. When it is time to start pushing, a woman's body starts going into shock. So, if you have given birth or have witnessed birth, the woman is most likely shaking afterwards. That is the body in shock.
Any who! I think if you compare a minute of labor and a minute of ball smashing, ball smashing would be much more painful. If you compare both in a 2 minute:14 hour ratio, no way in hell is getting kicked in the balls more painful than labor. Maybe if a man got kicked every half an hour for 14 hours.
Back to my horrible night. They were worse than braxton hicks contractions, but not as bad as labor contractions. Thankfully, my breathing was fairly normal. No hospital trips just yet.
I'm starting to freak myself out. We have very little for Connor. We have all the furniture, except a swing. We need to get a car seat, clothes, diapers, receiving blankets... I need to make a birth plan, find out information about my moderate dysplasia (procedure they are wanting to do), where Zoey is going while Josh and I are in the hospital. BLAH!! Anyone want to help me, lol. I don't blame Josh for not really being involved in the whole process. He has surgery coming up, trying to figure out how we are going to get by comfortably, not paycheck to paycheck, house stuff that I can't really do (like pulling up bushes from the ground, lol).
Well, I told Zoey I would be done by 10 o'clock and my breathing is starting to get harder.
